16 Steps To Developing Your Own Photos
Posted by Debo Hobo under: Hump Day Video; Travel-General .
Summer’s end is just around the corner and I know I for one have taken a boat load of photos. Photos of local sites and several weekend getaways.
Taking all these rolls of film to the local drug store for processing is literally going to cost me a fortune.
“Yes, I still use the antiquated film along with digital”. I utilize digital more so for immediate gratification and ease of distribution to family and friends. I like to use film for the artsy and nostalgic nature of it. Having the options for capturing memories is fantastic neither one should be discounted.
While searching for this week’s hump day video I came across the EpertVillage video of Jeff Park who has been a freelance commercial photographer since 1980. He is going to take us through the 16 steps to developing our own photos in the comfort of our own home. I am at this very moment determining how to turn the walk-in closet in the now spare room (sorry son) into my new darkroom because I just may try this on a couple of rolls as a fall season project.
I know several of my readers are photographers and really good ones at that. Have you ever developed your own photos? How did it work out? Would you recommend it?

my dad used to develop his pics back in the days. I started shooting with film but I was right on the cusp of digital and I was an early adopter so I didn’t get to develop my pics. But every now and then I think about trying it.
Yes!! It is as exciting a process as you can get involved in (if you’re into photography). I started years ago and ended up buying all of the equipment and dedicating a small room in my home for a darkroom. I kinda hate these new digital cameras, they rob me of my joy. But they’re so good.
