motorcycle-christmas-cards-7544081.JPGInstead of staying home this Christmas, pack up the presents and take a mini-vacation with the family. Options include everything from indoor water parks, to resorts in Mexico or the Caribbean, to ski resorts, to staying in a hotel in the nearest big city, where you’ll be dazzled by the holiday light displays. Just make sure you know where you’ll be having dinner, as many restaurants are closed the night before Christmas and on Christmas Day; restaurants that remain open may require reservations.

I like to go away for Christmas except the majority of my family livesin New England and I do not want to risk getting snowed in. So, we’ll be staying in sunny but cold Texas.

    Hi Debo,
Saw your comment about unable to comment on blogger blogs…..some allow you to use nickname and html signature, but some have not changed their permissions to allow this which means you need either a blogger.com account or gmail account to comment.
    Hope this helps,
    Colin

I have changed all my blogger blogs to allow comments if I approve them first however spam issues whereby one gets 100s of scam messages posted to blogs with lots of x-rated stuff make me sometimes consider blocking all messages. Good idea buy me a coffee as one sometimes feels like no-one appreciates their efforts and even a few cents in your paypal accoutn would make all the difference.

I actually use both blogger and wordpress but find that wordpress is indexed faster by Google and is actually easier to use than Wordpress.

No matter what platform you use for blogging, blog spam will always be a problem….I use WordPress and Akismet for spam comments, over 10,000 in 7 months!

I also use comment moderation ensuring that others do not slip through the net….however some bloggers also don’t like waiting for comments to be moderated…I’m sorry but I run clean blogs, and I intend to keep them that way.

I have also explained in my ‘Privacy & Disclosure Policy’ page that comments are moderated and the reasons why.
    Sadly it is a necessity.

Will adding OpenID to Blogger help you with comment identity?

If so, I will look into adding OpenID Beta to my Blog!

I just remember the poor family that recently got stranded in bad snow and the father eventually died of exposure when he left the car to find help. His wife and children were discovered and they got help.
