Holiday Gift Ideas for Your Traveler
Posted by Debo Hobo under: Holidays; General; Kids Activities; Travel Tips-General .
If you are looking for a holiday gift for the travel lover in your life? Experts across the travel industry have put together this fantastic list of recommendations. If my mom is reading I would like the Hand held water purifier or the international cellphone.
Check out these great gift ideas:
For when you get there
Recommended by Tony Wheeler, co-founder of Lonely Planet: a portable GPS ($250-$1,000), an Oregon Scientific clock (which runs either on batteries or electric power and includes clock, radio and barometer, $10-$50).
For cruises
Recommended by Jeffrey Krudop, manager of vacation travel for Carlson Wagonlit in Fort Wayne, Ind.: high-magnitude binoculars ($500); water-repellent luggage ($25-$300); arrange for a cruise line to decorate your gift recipients’ cabin or serve a bottle of wine at dinner.
For children
Recommended by Carole Terwilliger Meyers, author of Miles of Smiles: 101 Great Car Games & Activities: a wall-sized map of the world with pushpins to mark the places the child has visited ($20-$100), a beginner’s origami booklet with paper ($5-$10).

I know this off topic but I have problems with your eMail system.
Please stop by OpenID, the Oxymoron of Google commenting? and test your Wordpress ID in the Blogger OpenID comment option.
Back on Topic with these prices, I can afford the batteries for my Travel Lover! He better get a second job for a $250 GPS or a third job for a $1,000 GPS!
Gadgets are expensive but they are definitely useful to have.
I give up on Google, until they fix it I am not going to allow them to frustrate me anymore.
A $20 Compass and $2 Map is useful to have without breaking the bank!
Google Frustation? I believe, I politely asked you to see if they fixed the problem by commenting at above post? Sorry to trouble you!
Debbie-You are right a compass and a map would be my choice too but you know how the guys can be, they have to have all the latest gadgets.
I did try to comment, this was after I spent 15mins setting up an OpenID account and then it still didn’t work. I’ll give it another shot at home over the weekend.
But most importantly Debbie is you are never a bother to me, your opinions, thoughts, ideas and suggestions are what’s important to me. Keep the suggestions coming and thank you:)
They better be young guys not my wise old husband
From what I understand, the OpenID is not working at Blogger comments but other Comment Crusaders have successfully used their WordPress ID selecting WordPress in the Sign-in Pull-down menu.
Your welcome!
Unfortunately, this computer stone-age comment mess is frustrating everyone and hopefully, I will have more time to study and setup a WordPress Blog after the Holidays. Hopefully, WordPress doesn’t take 8 months to learn like one Blogger claims!
