Hi tony rich first of all welcome to my blog and thank you for commenting. It is funny you mention Boston I was watching a video on ProfitJuice and they mentioned that the roads in Boston were actually the paved over routes left from the cows in the 1600s. The people just paved over the warn down areas left by the cows and that is why the streets seem so half hazzard.

I am from New England(CT) originally so I know it is a wonderful walking area. Forced or no.

I don't know if I can say that Boston is walkable. I personally call it forcibly walkable.
You really do not have a choice. You either walk or get stuck in traffic in one way roads at every turn.
So in terms of walking because you have to ,I'd rank Boston right at the top of the list. As for the health part, the amount of car exhaust just makes that redundant doesn't it?

That's such a great routine. Is a great exercise to just walk around daily. Tell you the truth, I tend to daydream even when I walk, can be scary sometimes!

Seattle is #22, and I think it's a great place to walk. Lots of trails, especially if you are a hiker (I've not been in the past, but I'm going to be soon), but lots of sidewalks and parks. In the summer, one of my neighbors walks to work (5 miles one way), and she's in great shape! For exercise, I walk 6 blocks to a super fruit and vegetable stand, then walk home with my healthy treasures.

I was going to move to Oklahoma City, which ranks #100. I've put my move off, but not for that reason! Great post, Debo!
