I think they think we do not understand that we have some culpability
as a nation as we left the oil fields unrefined when we didn’t need them and stopped the roads we were building because we didn’t need them, yet - most people need to understand that Iraq interfered or we might be in the same place as China now, though that does not excuse the Chinese’s anger at Spielberg because what the Chinese do not understand is that we would be protesting whether it was their government or ours, something they do not have the right to do without being put in jail.

Ibeleive that Spielberg needed much encouragement from Mia Farrow to actually bow out, he did not do it on his own accord.

The Chinese newspaper has balls of steel, knowing that the U.S. and other countries are taking a hard look at their government because of their refusal to take any position regarding the events in Darfur.

And to get ticked off at Steven Spielberg because he won’t sit on their olympics committee, talk about childish!

I feel Spielberg has the right to his own opinion. I find it hard from an animal welfare point of view purchasing goods from there due to their cruelty to cats, dogs, bears etc and for their having poisoned many of our pets and nearly poisoning our children with their dangerous exports.
