U.S. gasoline prices topped out today-Monday at $3.50 per gallon for self-serve regular, according to AAA — the highest average price the national auto club has ever recorded. AAA’s data is obtained from the average of the last credit card swipe at about 85,000 gas stations on the previous day. Another survey, the Lundberg Survey, is carried out every two weeks at about 5,000 gas stations, and it, too, hit a record high. The cheapest gas on the Lundberg Survey could be found in Newark, New Jersey, which had an average price of $3.21. Drivers in San Francisco, California, where the average price was $3.88, paid the most.

All I know is that I’ve got to use premium in my motorcycle or it runs terrible. The price of that is just about $4 where I live. Diesel has hit $4.15 on a good day. I’m glad the gas tank is only 4 gallons!

Seattle gas was $3.79 9/10 on Sunday
I haven’t checked since; it’s just too depressing. I feel so sorry for people who have to drive to work.

Pete-I bet you get really great gas mileage on your bike. I wish I was brave enough to drive one.
Beth-I hopw the widget helpsout with determining gas prices in your area.
I am one of the sorry saps that still has to drive back and forth to work everyday, luckily I have this blog to help with some of the gas expenses.

Yes, about 44 mpg. If I didn’t accelerate so hard at times, I could probably get even more out of it. If I lived in a bigger city, there’s no way I’d ride a motorcycle.

Seems the fuel prices are just going up. Here in London I now pay £1.07 per litre. Which is far too expensive now.
Now I have seen it’s the same situation over there as well.

Greed is what’s fueling this (pardon the pun) and it is just plain ridiculous.

Here in the UK we’re paying the equivalent of $9 a gallon. I tried running my bike on premium, supposedly to give me extra mileage, and it gave me a whopping additional 4 miles out of the tank

I’ve been reading some blogs today and it seems that the gas problem is basically in every country around the world. This problem is probably a lot more serious then people believe, and I’m not sure it’s just about greed. I do think that gas prices should be lower, but it’s not like there aren’t alternatives that people could be trying out.

Gas prices have drop for the most part. No telling when they might hit us hard again. Lets keep our fingers cross. Btw… I think when gas prices do get high we do see less people driving, people are actually car pooling or taking other means of transportation, so I think it has it’s benefits on the environment in regards to air pollution. That’s good in my opinion.
