Fly High for Low Fares
Posted by Debo Hobo under: SR .
Because I am not about to hold my breathing waiting for the so called Summer Gas Tax Holiday to take place, we are going to go ahead and fly out to San Diego rather than drive. We were able to find really cheap airline tickets on American Airlines. I know, I know hopefully we will make it there at the scheduled time. Not to worry I book us to arrive three days prior to my son’s wedding, so we should be okay there.
I used one of the low fare search engines to find our flight and booked it immediately. I figure can’t beat $250 roundtrip these days especially with the rising fuel prices. The low fare search engine I used will route you through to the top three search engines of your choice and displays all their fares on the screen at once. In doing so you don’t have to log into each one individually. Plus, you can see what is happening in the airline industry in their News Section. It’s was just less of a headache.
We are going to stay at the Banker’s Hill Manor Bed & Breakfast rather than the usual hotel. We prefer B&BS for their quaintness and hospitality. I’ll do a post on our stay and whether we recommend them to our readers or not.
Do you use Low Fare Search Engines or do you book directly through the airlines?

I guess I check about everything! Clearing out all cookies on the recheck, of course…
Congratulations on your expanding family!
I hear that American Airlines has an awesome flight sale going on. I was just telling my husband now that the weather is getting better, we should check air flight sales so that we can do weekend getaways like we used to.
Hope you guys have fun in your trip!
Heather Dugan-Thank you for stopping by reading and commenting. I keep reminding myself after I dry the tears that I am not losing a son-I am gaining a daughter.
Sharon- The airlines that inconvenienced their customers last month seem to be trying to sway them back so prices are decreasing a little. I will be flying to CT. this weekend on SouthWest for a pretty reasonable last minute fare.
Marketing Deviant-Thanks we plan to.
I think that I heard about the low fare search engines on the news. I don’t do a lot of traveling, but that’s a good link to keep on hand. Thanks for posting it.
Debo, I am such a big fan of Southwest and I check it every single week to see where hubby and I could fly out for a quick weekend getaway. The rates are so good when all the other plane carriers are going up!
Hope you have fun in CT!
Sharon-It was so cold and rainy in Ct but we still had an enjoyable time. Anytime I can get some of that fresh New England seafood is always a pleasurable experience. Yummy!!
