Soon passengers will be able to bring large bottles of liquids on board their flight. The TSA expects by next fall to lift restrictions that limit passengers to carrying 3-ounce bottles of liquids, gels and aerosols in airplane cabins. Passenger will be required, however to remove the bottles of liquid from their luggage as they will need to pass through the screening X-ray separately.
Removing this restriction will prove to be a relief to many travelers. For instance the business traveler will be able to bring larger amount of hygiene products. Parent of young children will be permitted to bring on board more kid friendly foods and beverages that their child is accustomed to.
The restrictions are also likely to be eased in airports of other countries that adopted similar liquid restrictions two years ago after authorities disrupted an alleged plot to bomb trans-Atlantic flights with liquid-based explosives. Better technology will enable checkpoint X-ray machines to spot dangerous liquids. X-ray machines currently can’t tell the difference between harmless fluids and explosives.
By the end of 2010, passengers should be able to keep liquids as they go through checkpoints.

It will be nice to carry more than the small tubes of liquids, but I honestly don’t mind checking all that stuff in.
